Affordable Art

Following on from the incredible success of last year’s inaugural Affordable Art Sale, Claremorris Town Hall is delighted to offer a unique opportunity to solve that Christmas gift dilemma with our second event. The initiative offers  a wide variety of art works in the one space – all for sale and all priced at €250 or less.  The weekend sale commences at 6pm on Friday December 1st in the Town Hall Studio, and runs Saturday Dec 2nd – 10.00am to 6pm, Sunday Dec 3rd 12 noon to 6pm.

Please note this is not a conventional art exhibition. This is an art sale – our second Affordable Art offering featuring the work of six leading artists.


The artists involved in this novel project are:



Originally from Kiltimagh and living in Claremorris. Kay paints mostly with oil and employs an impressionist approach to her work. She has a studio in Ballinrobe and facilitates small groups to paint together in a warm and lively atmosphere. She has exhibited widely both in solo and group shows.



Joanna studied fine art at GMIT and embroidery with City & Guilds. Since then she has developed a love of painting on silk. She combines this with exotic fabrics and materials which she sources on her travels to foreign lands. She has exhibited at various group shows and her work is held in many private collections.



Ann has been painting for over 30 years and has exhibited many times. She works in all media and is constantly challenging herself by learning new skills and developing her own style. Her work is in many collections including that of President Michael D Higgins


ANN O’MAHONY: Artist, Weaver, Printmaker

Ann was awarded her PhD in History of Art and Critical Theory from GMIT in 2011. Her work is concerned with the cultural memory and meaning and in celebrating women’s contribution and creative expression. She has exhibited widely and her work is held in many private and corporate collections.


NORAH BRENNAN: Visual Artist, Printmaker, Painter

Norah holds a first class honours degree in Fine Art from GMIT. She has exhibited nationally and internationally. In 2015 she opened Cló sa Chró, her own printmaking studio on Ballyhaunis Road. Her work is part of the NUIG, Roscommon County Council and private collections. Her images are abstractions of time, place, memory and feelings.


ANNA DIXON: Artist & Healer (10 framed for wall + 12 small framed pieces for table)

Anna lives and works on their organic farm outside Claremorris.  Her work revolves around her personal healing journey. She is a graduate of Fine Art from GMIT and has taken part in many group exhibitions and has had solo shows in the past.
